Award Recipients Designate Charities to Receive $10,000
More inclusive summer camps. Mental health services for children without the means to pay. An exciting new program that gets gym students moving. These are just some results of the thoughtful choices made by John Rex Endowment Hands of Health Award recipients. Each year, the Endowment honors someone who has improved the health of our community's children and youth by giving $10,000 to the charity that person selects. WakeMed Receives National Award for Grant-Funded ENERGIZE! Program
The American Hospital Association (AHA) awarded the NOVA Award to WakeMed Health & Hospitals' ENERGIZE!, a pediatric nutrition and fitness education program designed to help curb the emerging diabetes epidemic. The John Rex Endowment has supported ENERGIZE! and other components of the WakeMed Children's Diabetes & Endocrinology Program with over $1.7 million in grant funds. [more]

Winner Will Select Organization to Receive $10,000
The John Rex Endowment invites nominations for the fifth annual Hands of Health award which recognizes individuals who demonstrate innovation in efforts to improve the health of children and youth in Wake County. The deadline for entries is September 5. [more]
Request for Proposal: Nutrition
As we continue to support a Healthy Weight Initiative, the John Rex Endowment is seeking proposals for programs and projects aimed at improving nutrition. Letters of intent are due July 24. [more]
